Alma VETLÉNYI

You are warmly invited to the closing event series of Alma Vetlényi’s solo exhibition Turn the Page. The finissage is realized in collaboration with the 10 Million Trees Foundation, and the “No Slum Program Office,” taking place at Kőbányai út 22, followed by a walkthrough at Liget Gallery.

The personal narrative of Alma Vetlényi’s exhibition begins with the planting of a tree and will conclude—following a workshop—with the symbolic planting of one or more new saplings at Kőbányai út 22. The location was chosen in partnership with the 10 Million Trees Foundation, in an area where greening the environment is a community need. The mission of the “No Slum” Program Office is to support the social well-being and improve the quality of life of  the apartment block residents. After the collective tree planting, volunteers from the 10 Million Trees Foundation plan to continue planting saplings throughout the spring.

The program series in Budapest’s 8th District will conclude with a final exhibition tour at Liget Gallery, led by visual artist Alma Vetlényi and curator/gallery director Veronika Molnár. During the tour, we’ll answer visitors’ questions, and afterward, everyone is welcome to stay for a toast and informal conversation.
